Some poems of mine are very accessible; others less so. This one is one of those that is less so. Still, I hope you get something out of it. Cause that's the point, too. Enjoy.
There were moments of tenderness
And I thank you for them
Like that time in Lisbon
By the water, by that park
Where I watched my world be stripped away
But you said it’s OK
And told me to breathe, and told me to breathe
And I had so much power after
That I was able to outbargain a man for Ray Bands
And bring him to his knees.
I thank you for these moments of tenderness.
