If only you saw me in another way
In another environment
What would you say?
In a staircase, in a field, let's say.
You'd see me in another way.
The everyday, it skews your view
Of what you think you know or knew.
You see me as a piece, all right
Of some machine you do not like.
But if you saw me new, alone
Not downtown and not at home
You'd see me in another way
And then perhaps the dawn would break.
